Hi there! My name is Marco, a proud Filipino and an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) based in the UAE. Like many of my fellow kababayans, I decided to try my luck abroad in search of greener pastures. It hasn’t always been easy—there have been highs and lows, moments of joy, and times of struggle. But through it all, I’ve learned so much, and I’m excited to share my journey with you.

This blog is my way of giving back to the OFW community and anyone who’s curious about life abroad. Whether you’re an OFW yourself, planning to work overseas, or simply looking for tips on how to navigate life’s challenges, I hope you’ll find something valuable here.

A Little About Me

I’m happily married, and my wife and I have been through a lot together since moving to the UAE. Like many OFWs, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges—from being exploited at work to experiencing unemployment and the anxiety that comes with it. There were times when I felt lost, insecure, and even depressed. But one of the biggest blessings in my life was when my wife and I were invited to join Couples for Christ (CFC). This community helped us rediscover our faith and realize God’s love in a deeper way. Today, even in the midst of struggles, we hold on to that faith and find joy in serving Him whenever we can.

Right now, I’m working from home while still searching for a regular full-time job. I’m also exploring ways to start a business here in the UAE. It’s not easy juggling everything, but I believe that with hard work, faith, and a little creativity, we can make things happen.

This blog will be a mix of personal stories, practical tips, and guides on how to survive and thrive as an OFW in the UAE. I’ll share my experiences—both the good and the bad—and offer advice on how to overcome challenges, manage finances, and make the most of life abroad.
